HIRE STANDARD
Team: Samantha Blixt, Katarina Hernandez, Kennedy Imhoff, Aubrey Koepke
Hire Standard works to raise the bar in terms of how communities engage with their minority/underprivileged population and creates opportunities for them to improve and leave negative situations. Through connecting with local partners, sharing resources, and paving the way for professional opportunities, Hire Standard will change the standard of living for these women and the communities that they are a part of.
Hire Standard is a program that partners with women's shelters, centered around helping women who have previously experienced domestic abuse or homelessness get back out into the workforce and become independent again. This program includes a kit filled with job interview-ready clothes and shoes, chosen through a style questionnaire by each participant. We provide classes to build resumes and interview skills, filled with tips and tricks to be completely prepared for their desired job. We partner with Lyft, which allows women free transportation for the first three weeks of a job until their first paycheck. Hire Standard is implemented directly within these shelters, avoiding the need for these women to need access to outside sources or the internet to work with us. By providing these women the necessary tools and environment to gain knowledge and resources, we can build these women up to access opportunities that can better their lives as a whole.

Core Value and Focus:
